A golf break can be used to combine a holiday with a change of scenery and still allow you to play the game you love. There are many places you can go to for short or long golf breaks. You can choose one which has other attractions so that your family can also enjoy themselves.
Planning a short golf break – If you can take only a weekend or a few days off from your hectic schedule then this would be a great option for you. You ought to select a place which is not too far away or is easily reachable so that you don’t waste too much time traveling. You should either be able to drive there or take a short flight.
Just make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment as many places are full up on weekends.
Planning a long golf break – A longer holiday can be more beneficial to your golf game. If you have your passport and visas ready you can select from a wide variety of places to go to. There are beautiful golf courses in Turkey, Portugal, Spain, England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, Egypt, France, Thailand, Dubai, New Zealand, Australia and many other places.
The US also has a tradition of golfing breaks in places like South Carolina and Florida and around. When you are planning a longer golf break, it is all the more important that you have your bookings in place.
Accommodation – If money is not a concern then you can opt for luxury accommodation in or around the golf courses. Many courses have hotels nearby or attached and they offer a complete experience, some with instructional courses thrown in.
However, if you are on a budget, you can still find bed and breakfast places or cheaper accommodation. You can even opt for a self-catered golf getaway.
